School of Education
Curriculum
English education majors also major in English and textual studies in the College of Arts and Sciences, providing a foundational background in English content and pedagogy.
Courses on the history of schooling; principles of inclusive classrooms; literacy across the curriculum; methods for teaching English, reading and writing; and more.
Introductory courses in a range of liberal arts areas give you broad perspectives on the world and human experience.
Tailor your major to personal and professional interests, such as Shakespeare, creative nonfiction, English composition and multicultural literature.
Field placements in local schools and community organizations include a full-time, multiweek student teaching experience in the spring of your senior year.
Extracurricular Opportunities
